It's school

Tääks school is the most important place for our campers - a lovely home during the camp week. And believe us, it's a really cozy and nice place!

The Tääkis school is currently 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 𝟏𝟒𝟓 _____.

The migration of people to the cities and the emptying of rural areas have unfortunately affected such beautiful villages everywhere in Estonia, and only with the help and dedication of serious enthusiasts has it been possible to help the local school through the most difficult moments and currently operates as one of the four locations of Suure-Jaani Kool.

In this 2020/2021 academic year, 6 children entered the first grade, and there are 22 students in total at the school. In addition, a kindergarten group with approximately 20 children operates in the school building.

However, the school itself has very wide possibilities for a "village school". There are all kinds of modern teaching aids, a proper and modern canteen for offering healthy food, a full-sized sports hall for various sports activities, as well as six-room student accommodation.

Sports opportunities

Sports opportunities are better in Tääks village than in some smaller towns.

  • The sports building next to the school offers the most opportunities: The hall there can fit a normal-sized basketball court. It is possible to play volleyball and badminton, and there are goalball goals.

  • There is a stadium and a street basketball court outside, and a football field a little further away.

  • Right next to the sports building is the Heade Mõtete house of the Tääkkis Sports Academy, equipped with a proper gym and a squash hall.

  • In winter, there are lighted ski trails and a toboggan hill in Tääks.

  • In the immediate vicinity of Tääks there are several natural and historical attractions, hiking trails in bogs and campfire sites and camping sites.

Beautiful nature in the Tääks district and the Parika bog

The nature around here is generally pristinely beautiful, but only 9 km from Tääks is the Parika bog, with a 3 km long hiking trail that goes around the HEART-SHAPED Parika small lake!

This place even has its own legend!

Legend has it that during the times when Estonia was ravaged by the plague, a young man and a girl met in this desolate area. Love flared up between them, and it was known that they contributed to the continuation of the nation. At the place where the young people fleeing the plague met, a heart-shaped lake was created to remember that happy event for millennia.

There is a rest area by the lake with a roofed area where you can have a picnic, and a pond with a ladder from which you can splash into the bog lake with a rejuvenating effect.

In summer, you can find plenty of blueberries around the hiking trail, and blackberries and cranberries away from the bog. And the song of the birds (sometimes, of course, a bit of mosquito buzzing) and the sounds of nature and the sun caressing through the trees and the wind rustling in the treetops...  It's simply an amazing place where we always take our camp children on an adventure.

NB! Geocaching (geocaching) players hunting for treasures will also find a treasure there (if, of course, they know how to look well) ;)
